E-Tago

E-Tago is an Android-based mobile application that utilizes a Web-Based Application Programming Interface (API) to apply deep learning techniques for detecting and censoring personal information in product review images. This application is designed to enhance user privacy and data protection by providing the following features:

  • Privacy: The app scans images to detect any exposed personal information, ensuring user privacy.
  • Image Censorship: Provides automatic censorship options, allowing users to review and modify redactions before saving or sharing the images.
  • Alerts: Notifies users about the detected personal information to take necessary actions.

Getting Started

These instructions will guide you on how to get a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development and testing purposes.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following installed:

  • Android Studio (latest version recommended)
  • JDK (Java Development Kit), which is included in Android Studio
  • An Android device or emulator for testing

Installing

Follow these steps to get your development environment running:

  1. Clone the Repository

    git clone https://github.com/Next-Gen-Artisans/ETago.git
  2. Open the Project in Android Studio

    • Launch Android Studio, go to File -> Open... and choose the cloned project folder.
  3. Set Up the Android Emulator or Connect Your Android Device

    • For the emulator: Navigate to Tools -> AVD Manager and set up a new Android Virtual Device.
    • For a physical device: Connect it via USB and enable USB debugging under developer options.
  4. Run the Project

  • Click on the 'Run' button in Android Studio to build and launch the application either on the connected device or the emulator.
