Existing Algo install, new computer: how to issue certificate?

I set up Algo using my previous Mac years ago. I recently replaced it with a new Mac.

As I understand it, the certificate was managed in Apple's Keychain on my old Mac; I connected to my VPN server using Apple's own VPN interface.

I tried exporting the old cert and importing it to the new computer, but that didn't work. I need to issue a new cert, or do whatever it is I need to do to connect to my existing Algo instance (on AWS EC2, in case it matters). Not sure how to do that. If the correct answer is "nuke the existing install and start from scratch," I think I can do that.

If you didn't retain a copy of the algo/configs directory where Algo stored the config files used to access your instance then you'll probably need to deploy a new instance. Once you've created the new instance I suggest you retain the algo directory for as long as you keep that instance around in case you need to add new clients in the future.

I do have my old Time Machine backups, so I have access to the old /usr/local/bin/algo directory. I do see a config.cfg file, but no configs directory. Which might be a sign of how old that installation is.
