Hi Sean

Please contact me regarding the adoption of flask-skeleton into a much larger app based on blueprints. I'm looking to pay for "framework services"

Thanks
Bruce

Hi Sean

I'm on a train at the moment (London time 17:18) ... it would probably
be better to setup a call early next week if possible?

The reason I reached out is that I went through your flask-skeleton
readme/comments and I couldn't agree more with your views on mysql vs
PostgreSQL. As we appear to be on the same wave length I thought it
wouldn't hurt to inquire about getting some basics coded up.

The website will be called "autobay.com" and is intended to challenge
"autotrader.co.uk". The platform consists of Fedora, PostgreSQL, Nginx
and Flask.

Not wanting to waste your time I think we should discuss rough cost
estimates as I'm paying for this myself and would not be able to
afford the usual many thousands for a website. I have written some
very basic stuff using Flask:
( www.veritrack.co.uk ) ...hence the requirement for a framework
rather then a full site as I'm hoping I can full in a lot of the
detail myself.

I guess the hardest part will be for me to correctly convey the
requirements for the framework. I use the word "framework" loosely
here, by "framework" I mean the following groundwork:

  1. User register -> confirmation email
  2. User login, logout
  3. "create advert routine" advert = [ various pictures + car details,
price and location etc] ... images would be resized/watermarked using
    image magic etc
  4. Database schema that would suit a used car database (holds the
above advert and path to pics etc) .... thinking pics are served by
    nginx.
  5. Search functionality (same details as autotrader) so based on
various search options, search the database

Thats a basic start, frills and layout would not be needed at first,
the idea is to focus on the "framework" and getting the basics right,
by basics I mean:

  1. Correct method when using Flask blueprints, modules naming
conventions and imports ...ie should "create_advert" be a function, a
module or a blueprint etc etc
  2. Best practice for SQL layout/queries/security/performance etc

Hmm...having laid out the above I'm seeing how quickly the project can
balloon :)

If you could give some thought to the above and what sort of costs I
would be looking at I would really appreciate it.

I look forward to hearing form you.

Cheers

Autotrader is a big company; And ultimately its not the website that's valuable, its the data they collect and use.
