ReText crashes during export if the output file exits and is opened by another program #577

OS: Windows

How to reproduce

  1. Export document to odt.
  2. Open document with LibreOffice
  3. Change source
  4. Try to export to the same output file

I don't use Windows myself, but I tried to emulate this behavior in a Linux environment (by making the file non-writable), and it works fine.

You are using “File → Export → ODT”, right?

Can you please tell ReText and Qt versions?

Also maybe you can do the following?

  • Open the terminal (e.g. Ctrl+R, type cmd, Enter).
  • Run python /path/to/retext/executable.
  • Make it crash.
  • Check what is printed in the terminal and paste it here.
