User story

Currently, important PDC files have gone missing and we were not alerted to the problem until after it was too late to fix it. What might a monitoring / audit service look like for PDC?

Acceptance criteria

  • Schedule an RDSS meeting to discuss what an audit service would look like
  • Write ticket(s) to build the audit service.

Options for what could go into the audit service (there may be more)

  • We can generate a canonical list of what should be in AWS
  • We know right away if checksum files are deleted
  • We know right away if post-curated data files are missing
  • This audit is run automatically and any errors raised are logged somewhere
  • This ticket is just for the design process. Once we settle on how to approach this, make a ticket for the actual work.
