Actually, I just tried to log in again, and although the desktop appears just as it did before (with the wrong wallpaper and the red Doing some troubleshooting on my own, I found that the this portion of the i3 config in After doing that, I no longer see the red However some things are still not working:

Hi @Mokkujin I tried that just now. Here's the output below However, no change to the situation, even after reboot. My desktop looks exactly as it did in this comment, and like before, the only key commands that work, are those for switching desktops, arranging windows, and opening a terminal. Still cannot open browser without first opening a terminal to run |

It is intended that Regolith provide the "root" i3 config file. This root is small, and specifies some common include directories where most of the i3 config is loaded from. If you've setup your own independent copy of the root i3 config file, this would explain the behavior you see. This feature ("user able to completely override regolith i3 file") is intended for cases where users want complete control. Normally, customization involves adding partials to one of these directories to configure specific behavior. I suggest moving |

Sadly, I won't be able to try that. I decided to just do a full reinstall, and that did the trick. Not an ideal solution, but it reduced the hassle. Thanks for the help all! |

Hi All, I recently installed regolith on Debian 12 bookworm, and things were going smoothly, until I tried to override the i3 settings. Now none of the keybindings work, and I can't bring up the application menu, or a new terminal window.
The only thing on the screen is a wallpaper (which I did not set; I was using the wallpaper from the nord look) and a small error message in red on the bottom right corner of the i3 bar:
In debian recovery mode I deleted ~/.config/regolith3/i3/config and restarted hoping this would solve the problem, but it hasn't.
Is there a way that I can wipe the slate clean and revert back to default regolith desktop settings to get out of this error?
