It seems that a lot of for_window assignments aren't working correctly for me, and I can't find any help for this issue anywhere else! In particular, I'm trying to make the image viewer floating by default, as well as a couple of others:
I've added this to 40_default-style in ~/.config/regolith2/i3/config.d/ and have removed the relevant partial via apt
I got the window class from xprop, and have tried with and without the pattern matching to no avail, it just won't float by default!
I've also been trying to get steam games to assign to a specific workspace, in particular any that have the class beginning with steam_app, but this also does not seem to be working:
assign [class="steam_app"] $ws20
(I've done the necessary config edits to make that workspace exist and otherwise it works fine)
In both cases, the rules are working for some applications but not for others, and the inconsistency is very confusing. If anyone has any insights into what might be happening here, or how I can figure out why these particular assignments aren't working, please let me know!
