Fixed Navigation Pane & content

I want to have the Navigation View be fixed on the page when the content area is too large, here the navigation view ends while the list of tiles keeps going:

Setting the navview-pane to pos-fixed does work but navview-content begins to overlap the pane.

I've tried reading up and down the docs but unsure how to achieve the effect I want.
