Hello,

today I've discovered an issue with the terms of service app when sharing files.

What happens?

  • Terms of service seems to block all file access until a user accepted the ToS. Thus, when I try to open a sharing link like for the memories app, the contents within this folder are not accessible. It tells me: "Page not found - The Page could not be found on the server or you may not be allowed to view it."
  • Furthermore, I don't see the ToS window when accessing the memories sharing link directly.
  • The links themselves work though, it just seems to be ToS blocking the contents.
  • Example screenshots can be seen at the end of this text.

What's the difference between a regular sharing link for a folder and a memory sharing link?

  • Well, it's basically just the "apps/memories/" part.
  • regular: cloud.nextcloud.com/s/sharing_link
  • memories: cloud.nextcloud.com/apps/memories/s/sharing_link

Technical stuff

  • ToS v2.4.0
  • Nextcloud v29.0.3
  • Memories v7.3.1

Workaround:

  1. Open whatever regular public file share.
  2. It forces you to accept tos, accept them.
  3. Now open your sharing link (e.g. from memories) in the very same tab. Thus, you accepting the tos is still stored as information.

Current solution:

  • Deactivate terms of service app.

+1, i have the same issue when opening a shared video. The video player sometimes fails to load the video and after disabling the terms of service app for shares it worked fine
