Take the probe or probe information as argument

Some probes are not loaded automatically by SI on fille load (e.g. Cambridge Neurotech). It will be necessary to provide details on the probe (or the probe itself) to load. The probe itself will be useful if some magic is required to coerce probes into a sensible format, though ideally all this should be handled under the hood.
