Enable history API for changing search criteria

Choosing a different metric in the web UI causes a navigation (or a soft navigation, I can't tell), but changing other parameters (those that are reflected in the search/query string of the URI) does not add the change to the back/forward navigation history. When the URL changes, my expectation would be that the back button becomes usable as a way to flip between options.
