Running any Python code is exceedingly slow in VS Code, including importing basic packages such as numpy and pandas. Under "Running Extensions", Python is marked as unresponsive. I am running code line-by-line in an environment created using virtualenv and activated from the command line. I have restarted the VS Code several times.
Extension version: 2023.10.1
VS Code version: Code 1.79.2 (695af097c7bd098fbf017ce3ac85e09bbc5dda06, 2023-06-14T08:57:04.379Z)

PSA to everyone: do not store your virtualenv in a Windows collaborative drive! Once I had saved the environment locally, my performance issues in VS Code resolved themselves. Thanks!
