👋 Welcome to the theairportwiki.com! official GitHub wiki
Note I'm in the process of moving bits and pieces from the old / legacy mediawiki site that presently resides at theairportwiki.com to GitHub.

- ❗️ airpyrt-tools requires the Base Station Password and NOT a wifi WEP/WPA password to communicate with the device. The Base Station Password is also required for logging into the device if SSH is enabled.
The Base Station Password can be modified using AirPort Utility on macOS or possibly even iOS if a device is present.
The below image display where the different disk settings can be changed within AirPort Utility.app. With the AU.app v6.3.8 on macOS 10.13.6 there are three options to secure the contents of the disk via access the disk across a network.
From my personal use case, I was using a Time Capsule disk which appeared to be formatted with a FAT32 partition judging by how the file permissions were set, ie. 777. That said when using Finder.app to mount the disk macOS is using some sort afp over TCP/IP protocol to mount the disk. ❗️ When I changes the Secure Sharded Disks setting from one of the three options, all the files on the disk were no longer browsable from either Finder.app or a CLI. This happens when I set the disk to use a With a disk password, and the problem I am running into is I can not connect to the disk with a SMB protocol unless I change the setting to With accounts. ❗️ When I change to that setting however, the browsable files that were accessible are no longer accessible via a GUI or CLI. In order to browse the file contents of the disk I have to change back from With accounts to With a disk password
- TODO is it possible to change the above setting and still browse the existing files on the disk?
