Apparently it's possible for iOS apps to talk to MFi-certified hardware accessories via the ExternalAccessory framework, assuming the vendor has released an API for it. There are many Lightning to USB flash storage devices out there, and integrating them with iComics would be an extremely nice thing to have. :)
