ascom support #17
Comments
Hi @balliamo1, I have a development fork with support for ASCOM cameras and mounts. You could use that if you really want to use ASCOM, but you probably don’t need it. We have found the ZWO native driver to be more performant. You can use that in the hw_ascom branch of this project (which by the way does not implement ascom, contrary to title) and in my fork. You can operate Celestron mounts or iOptron AZMP from either hw_ascom or my fork. Which mount(s) are you planning to use? |
Hi thanks for replying.I use skywatcher eq8r.I manage to run the Gui and connect as a celestron mount but I need to know instructions to connect and run the zwo drivers before I can test the systemCan you help?-- Sent from my Android phone with mail.com Mail. Please excuse my brevity. On 20/06/22, 05:22 Ryan Kinnett ***@***.***> wrote:

Nice mount! I am envious :) Unfortunately pypogs will not work with that mount. Pypogs currently only supports Celestron alt-az mounts and the iOptron Az Mount Pro. It does not support equatorial mounts in general, and additionally does not work with SkyWatcher mounts due to a firmware problem which I believe is common to all SW mounts although I have not specifically checked with an EQ8R. I have petitioned SkyWatcher to fix their firmware but haven’t seen any indication that they’re interested in doing so. Perhaps they need more complaints to tech support! By the way, full disclosure, I have no affiliation with ESA and my comments are not on behalf of ESA or on behalf of this project. I am unofficially coordinating various updates with Gustav through my developmental fork. |
hello all.
I am normally using Ascom drivers for ZWO camera and mounts, can you give me an update about this development to support?
thanks
