Vimeo embeds in Directus 8 no longer provide an image thumbnail

We are using the latest version of Directus 8 and are trying to embed Vimeo videos in the File Library like we have done in our previous Directus 6 installation. In 6, when we created a Vimeo file library record, an image thumbnail was generated for the list view of the record, which allowed our Marketing team to more easily locate the correct record. This no longer happens in 8. Instead, we get a default icon in Card view and a disk icon in Table view. Are we doing something wrong, or is this functionality no longer available?

We also noticed that in version 9 that Vimeo and YouTube embedding no longer seem to be available at all. Is this functionality being permanently removed from Directus moving forward?
