The current system to manage translated docs is too complicated.

The directory structure needs to be replicated between all languages, making it difficult to maintain if the structure changes.
Moreover, the complete markdown file needs to be copied from one language to another.

It would be easier to write the docs in a reference language (English), and just translate the base docs.
We could use Weblate to manage translations, either with the JavaScript Localization CDN addon, or using po4a

Like explained in df0e414, the way to go is to use html2po to translate the generated website.

It seems a lot of work to have the docs translated by a human via Weblate. The most scalable solution would be to use a translation API to make the process completely automated.

There are paid services like Deepl, Yandex, and of course Google.
There is also LibreTranslate which seems very promising, and we could self-host it.
