Lowercase z’s top and bottom strokes feel too thin

While reading long texts, I realized that the z doesn’t match quite right.

You got a hinting problem. Look at the m, much smaller than the u.

What environment, flavor of fonts, etc.?

The latest TTF files download from GitHub transfered to a Kindle Paperwhite. The OTF, just doesn't work as aspected, they get completely distorted, for whatever reason unfortunately.
