What happens when the bug or crash occurs?

I get the toast telling me Vesktop 1.5.4 has been downloaded, and soon after the button to restart Vesktop appears. After clicking it, I get the UAC popup asking for permission to allow the setup.exe to make changes, which I consent to, but the update never actually installs. I then get the popup below telling me the update failed to install.

What is the expected behaviour?

I expect the updates that are automatically downloaded by Vesktop to be installed when I click the "Restart to install update" toast button.

How do you recreate this bug or crash?

  1. Run a slightly outdated version of Vesktop.
  2. Wait for the updates to be downloaded.
  3. Click the "restart to install" button.
  4. Observe it fail.

Tbh I don't know why it fails. Is it maybe because I also have the vanilla Discord with Vencord injected into it as well? Am I only able to have one or the other?

probably an issue with your system. try manually downloading the latest installer from releases and see if that works

if not, try fully reinstalling the app

I had this issue too, manually downloading the installer from the Github release worked.
