Installations: Instructions lack guidance on which Ubuntu terminal to set as default when duplicates are available

Step 1.2.2: Setting WSL2 as default (Optional) recommends that we set WSL2 as the default terminal program upon opening Windows Terminal.

The steps are -

Click the dropdown next to the new tab button (at the top of the windows), and select Settings.

You should see a Default Profile option with a dropdown next to it.

In the dropdown select Ubuntu.

However, there are 2 profiles with the name "Ubuntu". One with a penguin icon and one with a red colored icon. There is no mention of which one to choose.

It's an annoying issue to be sure. The Ubuntu logo is a Canonical terminal profile that gets created when people run the Ubuntu.exe executable.

It might be that we just need to remove the instruction to launch Ubuntu from the Start Menu and made it clear that the order of operation is:

• Install WSL
• Launch Windows Terminal
• Select Ubuntu profile

I might have to dig out a couple test devices to do fresh Win 10 and 11 installs though, just to get the new device process ironed out.

I've never run the ubuntu.exe executable from the Start menu, yet I still have the canonical profile in Windows Terminal

Both ways appear to launch the Canonical profile, at least on my system.
