Second swatch not updating

I'm facing an issue with configurable products using 2 swatches (eg. color and size).

The second swatch (size) is never updating, whatever color we select.
Tests we did in the vanilla dev branch without elasticsuite show that it works as expected. In my production system though (2.4.6 with elasticsuite 2.11.1) the size swatches are not updating when selecting color. For example here https://electrons.gr/el/kranos when selecting blue, white or pink color only the M size should be available but as you see the size swatches are like frozen, never updating...
As the magento dev instance works as expected and doesn't have elasticsuite, I'm thinking that this may have to do with elasticsuite. Before declaring this a bug has anyone similar experience with dual swatches? Can anybody verify that even with elasticsuite 2.11.1 it works as expected?

According to current findings looks like that in 2.4.6 there is a bug, which in 2.4-dev is not existing.
I'm leaving this here open until we verify this has nothing to do with elasticsuite and then I will close it.
