Is it possible to enable to the branch in my status line?

How do I get the name of my current branch in my status line?

The variable require'neogit'.get_repo().head.branch contains the current branch.

Okay, thanks. I'm wondering how I could include that in my limelight status line. I've tried the below, and it doesn't work. Sorry, I am very new at lua and not a programmer, so please bear with me! Please let me know if you need any more info.

add the following function

function! MyGitBranch()
  return luaeval("require'neogit'.get_repo().head.branch")
end

and set gitbranch to "MyGitBranch".

Oh, yes, of course. I meant in pure lua, but easily done. I've actually moved to lualine for my status line, so I'll let you know how I go, as I was trying to set up an extension setting for Neogit.
